ACCESS STATEMENT FOR SLEE COTTAGE

SELF-CATERING

 

Introduction:

Our Self-Catering cottage is a traditional Lakeland stone built mid terrace cottage. It is situated on a no through road and in a very quiet part of Keswicks conservation area. We have tried to provide as much detail as possible in this statement so that potential visitors have sufficient information and descriptions before making a booking. We welcome all enquiries by telephone, letter or email.

Pre-Arrival:

Arrival & Car Parking:

There is parking for one vehicle at Slee cottage. The car parking area is level. If guests have two cars then there is a permit available for a car to be parked on the nearby car park. There is a fee of £10 (pro-rated for short breaks) to be paid for this permit. Car parking for the cottage is at the rear of the cottage and this is accessed via a one car width lane.

Entrance:

The nearest entrance to the cottage from the car parking area is via the back door. The ground is level from the car parking area to the back door then there is one step 6" high into the cottage. The door opens directly into the kitchen. At right angles to the back door there is a sliding patio. There is a porch at the front of the cottage which is accessed by a pedestrian lane from Market Square. The porch has double doors overall width 50". Entrance from the lane into the cottage is virtually level.

Ground Floor- Kitchen, Dining Area and Lounge Area

The kitchen is well equipped with appliances and cupboards. There is an automatic washer/dryer, an integrated Dishwasher. Gas cooker with 4 hob burners, oven and seperate grill, a Fridge and Freezer and a microwave. The kitchen is well lit with natural light from the window and sunken spotllights in the ceiling. The boiler is in the kitchen. Flooring is laminated. From the open plan kitchen there is a 2" step leading into the dining area. The dining area has an oval shaped table and is supported by central pedestal legs. The chairs are moveable. There is solid oak flooring throughout the dining and lounge area. There are two good sized double sofas. Also a games chest and bookcase. Television is remote controlled and has an integrated DVD player.There is a CD/Radio. Current legislation does not allow us to leave any C/D's or DVD's in the cottage.

Off the lounge area there is a small cupboard where the upright vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, brushes and mop are housed.

Hall and stairs.

A door 27" wide leads to the hallway and the front door is off to the right. The floor is the same solid oak wood as in the dining/lounge area.

Stairs lead from the hallway to the upper two floors. All the stairs are carpetted and the staircase is well illuminated with natural light and electric lighting. A hand rail has been installed on the first section of the first flight of stairs.

Bedrooms

On the first floor there is a single bedroom and a double bedroom. Both have standard sized furniture, are carpetted and have ample natural light.

On the second floor there is a family room which has a double bed and a single bed and standard sized furniture. This bedroom is carpetted and has a window supplying natural light. This bedroom is under the eaves of the house and in places is not of a normal standard ceiling height.

Bathrooms

Both bathrooms have a standard sized bathroom suite and an over the bath electric shower. The floors are laminated. There is one bathroom on the first floor and a second bathroom on the second floor.
