From Penrith travel west on the A66 and by-pass, Keswick, Portinscale, Braithwaite

and Thornthwaite. Bassenthwaite Lake should be on your right. After the end of the dual-

carriageway take the first turning right signposted for Embleton with a truck sign. Follow

this road which runs parallel to the A66 and after 1.5 miles you will enter the village of

Embleton. Drive straight on until you see the Wheatsheaf Inn. Orchard House is

another 400 yards and on the same side as the Inn.
